Cheap Decorating Ideas

    Cheap Decorating Ideas

A while back, I made a decision to do something different with my home. I decided to go with a DIY approach in order to save money and to makeover my house in a way that would make it more interesting. First of all, I got tired of the constant stream of visitors that came into my living room every time I had company over. I decided to repaint one wall in my living room and turn it into an accent wall. This way, I got a focal point to set my focal point around. In addition to the new paint job, I also got some new DIY candle holders and pottery barn lights.

The other part of my plan was to make some new DIY candle holders and pottery barn lights. I wasn’t going to do the entire makeover on my own. Instead, I planned to contact a local candle making company that did custom work and to ask if they would help me out. Since I was going to do most of the cheap decorating ideas on my own, this seemed like the best way to approach it.

So what exactly did I get creative with? Well, the first thing I did was go through my closet doors. I was not able to find a creative use for all my old hangers. Instead of storing my hangers in my closet, I was going to donate them to charity. A great cause in my area is Habitat for Humanity. The tax credit that they offer really helped me out when I was doing my cheap decorating ideas.

After I had donated my old hangers to them, I knew that the only way that I would be able to find good cheap decorating ideas was to get creative. I went through many books at my local library to get ideas. I also took a lot of pictures during this time to document my process of decorating my closet. I used my pictures to inspire me because I really wanted my decorating project to turn out good.

After I had done my research and got inspired, I decided that my next step in my DIY decorating plan was going to be some sort of homemade flea market craft. I knew that I could make my own flea market craft since I already found all the supplies. All I needed to do was to find fabric, a hook and needle, glitter, glue sticks, and a few other little things. I knew that I had all of these things at my local thrift store, but I was still nervous about my DIY wall decor project since I did not know if it would turn out good or not. I was very glad that my craft project turned out great because I was able to earn some extra money while helping out a charity at the same time. The other people who purchased my crafts also were kind enough to give me tips on other things I could do with my DIY craft.

My final cheap decorating idea was to make some unique and fun barn door art. I found some interesting items at an antique store including signs and window decorations that I could incorporate into my barn door. I decided to get barn door magnets for my barn so that I could easily display my beautiful homemade signs. I decided that I was going to do two rows of them and place them at each corner of my door. I placed three different kinds of magnets on each row, but I think that I only put two on each row because I ended up having too many to actually place on the doors. That is how I came up with the idea of making my own homemade throw pillows.
